STEP 1

Focus On A Goal

  • Identify and clarify the problem: Begin by thoroughly understanding and clearly defining the problem at hand. Break down the complexities and unnecessary details to uncover the core issue. By getting to the root of the problem, you gain a clearer understanding of what needs to be addressed.

  • Set goals focusing on essential data: Once the problem is identified, set goals that are specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART). Use essential data and insights gathered during the analysis to define these goals. By focusing on key metrics and relevant information, you ensure that the goals are aligned with the desired outcome and provide a clear direction for the improvement efforts.

STEP 2

Learn and Iterate

  • Develop a plan: Create a well-defined plan that outlines the steps, resources, and timelines required for implementing the improvements. Break the plan into smaller, actionable tasks to facilitate smooth execution. Consider incorporating proven methodologies, best practices, and innovative approaches to maximize the effectiveness of the plan.

  • Implement and iterate change ideas: Execute the plan and put the proposed changes into action. Monitor the progress closely, gather feedback, and be open to making adjustments and refinements as needed. Embrace a mindset of continuous improvement and agility, allowing for iterative iterations and experimentation. By iterating on the changes, you increase the likelihood of finding the most effective and efficient solutions.

STEP 3

Yield Results

  • Communicate successes: Celebrate and communicate the successes achieved through the improvement efforts. Share the positive outcomes, milestones, and key learnings with stakeholders, both internally and externally. Use effective communication channels to highlight the impact of the improvements, fostering a sense of accomplishment and engagement among the involved parties.

  • Scale improvements: Identify opportunities to scale the improvements to a broader scope within the organization or applicable areas. Determine how the successful changes can be replicated in similar contexts, departments, or processes. Provide guidance and support to ensure a smooth scaling process, maximizing the benefits of the improvements across the organization.

Remember that this is a simplified 3-step process, and improvement methods can be much more complex depending on the nature of the problem and the context in which it occurs. By following the FLY Results method - together - we can effectively find and address specific problems, list potential solutions, take action, follow up on implementation, learn from the results, and foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
